Cider

Desire, my Cider,
Bitten by the sharpest branch,
I'm not the kind who so easily forgets,
But I'll bet my bets on a wish.
Cider, you sting my lips,
Like thousands of morphine laced bumblebees,
Leave me frozen, and recollecting what you mean to me.
I'm standing still in cold water,
And I'm electric, all wires turned on.
My hair falling all over my face,
Twisting and turning in the wind,
With a smile on my face, this is Spring.
But Cider and his bitter kiss,
Keeps me tempted to trail after,
Running bare footed and wild eyed,
Through the mud,
If I could only make him smile.
Dirt in my hair, he's a natures doll,
And I see his little horns,
Even the grim reaper can't take me away,
Or break me, or make me wash my hair.
I have what was stolen, Cider,
The sweet honey browns, and light amber gold,
Flipping through the wind, running up hills,
Desire, Cider, my friend.

Daddy Long-Legs

Today seems like a loom,
Stretching every fine line.
Daddy long-legs I'll dance for you,
If you kiss me,
But you cant,
Your lips were't made for love.
Spin me a tale of self bruising,
And I'll weep you the story,
Of a lonely spider who was trying to feel.
Mister Daddy long-legs tuck me to sleep,
I know what it's like to weep,
I know what it's like to be stretched so thin,
And I know what it's like to find love again.

Winter Colors

I didn't mean to destroy it,

It was watercolor in my hands,

Running down like rivers of hues,

Contaminating my skin,

Dying it colors of winter.

Stain my heart like a piece of wood,

I can fall back and be crushed.

Spreading all your lies,

Making the night stand still.

I hope this year is better than the last.

My mouth can speak secrets of life,

But my breath wont listen,

It's fixated on the brown in your eyes.

Confident, and sure, and all the things I'm not.

The makers and breakers,

Winter slaps me in the face,

And all I am is a mess.
