Spiders and Sparrows

It's not going to stay this cold forever,
Shooting lines from the equator,
Right through my central chest area,
Careful not to crack a rib.

Before the dawn,
You have to kiss me one more time,
Like a sparrow,
Careful not to make my lips bleed.

Spiders make homes in my hair,
But I only want to see you happy,
I only want to hear your voice,
Careful not to cut through my skin,

Pallor returns,
Like the dusk,
Say goodnight,
And I fade like a flower in fall.

Sparrow

He's not going to stop,
Until the search is finished,
A sailor in his little boat for two.
No land in sight,
And the dawn casting orange creamsicle swirls,
Over glassy waves.
Though his hands are dry from the salt,
And his lips are cracked from the breeze,
They will always be soft,
And they will always be there.
Withered ropes drawn tight,
And insatiable thirst on his tongue,
He stares at a sky without rain clouds,
And wonders how a world filled with water,
Could be so dry.
Running fingers along the surface of the sea,
What monsters hide in the dark,
Guarding sunken ships filled with rusty jewels,
Mermaids singing songs of heartache,
Jealous of his two feet.
He sees the tiny sparrow flutter by,
Almost skimming the surface of orange and blue,
He's almost home,
He has to be.
Waking up his passenger with excitement,
With energy,
And the two laugh, and scream,
They begin to paddle,
And they know they are free.

Cosmia Affinis

Eyelashes,
Cutting,
Would the sky tear open,
If our eyelashes brushed against it,
We can't stop the night from coming in.

Cosmia flying,
It's a dark night,
End my suffering,
With the flames of your lips,
As the oceans turn to dust.

Astronomer,
Drawn to the light in the sky,
Like a moth,
I can make up,
My own constellations.

Silk,
Lost,
In a trance,
Painting canvas words on silk,
It's only skin after all.

Words,
They trickle down your spine,
Painting words,
With eyelashes,
We can't stop the night from coming in.
